The YMCA of the Palm Beaches has secured $1.5 million for the construction of its new 55,000-square-foot community center at Lake Lytal Park. Sponsored by State Senator Mack Bernard and State Representative Anne Gerwig, the appropriation was approved by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis. “We are extremely grateful to our legislators for their overwhelming support of this expansive project,” says Timothy Coffield, President and CEO of the YMCA of the Palm Beaches. “This is an important investment in our community’s future, and we are honored that the State of Florida has approved funding, and we will continue to work with the local community to garner additional support to help make this long-awaited dream a reality.” The project is part of a partnership with Palm Beach County, which approved a 50-year ground lease for the YMC
