Caught on camera: Driver rescued after car plunges into Clearwater pond

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WWSB) - Two Clearwater Police officers were able to rescue a driver after her car plunged into a pond Thursday evening.Officers Jonathan Hurt and Hunter Smaldone jumped into the water and were able to break the glass to the driver’s side window, unlock the door and pull her out of the car. The two brought her to safety on shore, where fire medics could treat her. She was then taken to Mease Countryside Hospital.
