A huge drop off : seizures and citations in campaign against unpermitted vendors By Tom Schultz, News-Press Staff Writer A six-month campaign to deter unpermitted vending on unincorporated county land—and prevent food borne illnesses from spreading—resulted in food and equipment seizures and several citations. From April 3 to Oct. 3, health and public works officials in partnership with the California Highway Patrol and Sheriff s Office visited multiple locations in the Santa Maria and Santa Ynez Valleys.
