HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested 30 registered sex offenders during compliance checks conducted ahead of Halloween.Detectives checked on 1,202 registered sex offenders living in unincorporated Hillsborough County during Operation Scarecrow, according to the sheriff’s office. The agency worked with the Florida Department of Corrections and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.Authorities said the checks were intended to confirm people were living at their registered addresses and following the terms of their registration, supervision and probation. The sheriff’s office said the alleged violations included failing to register vehicles, failing to update an address on a driver’s license and failing to report for registration on time.Sheriff Chad Chronister joined detectives for some of the compliance checks, including visits to people convicted of sexual battery on children younger than 12, the agency said.Riverview man arres
