(InvestigateTV) — For a young adult stepping into college or a first job, financial decisions can feel overwhelming. Teresa Murray, a consumer watchdog with US PIRG, said that makes financial planning for teens and young adults especially important.“We’re kind of assuming here that once somebody’s in high school or going off to college, that their parents have already taught them a little bit about needs versus wants and being able to budget your spending, not blowing your allowance every week,” Murray said. “But it’s always important for young adults, high schoolers going off to college, to be able to figure out needs versus wants and avoid the impulse spending.”One key lesson, Murray said, is helping young adults understand how credit works and how long it follows them.“You need to explain to them, like, hey, your credit history lives with you for a while,” Murray said. “If you have a lousy credit score, once you graduate from college, you’re going to have difficulty renting an apart
