SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - 42 year old Douglas Reeves from Osprey appearing in the Sarasota County courthouse Wednesday morning for his sentencing in a child pornography case. Reeves facing seven charges of possessing child pornography and one charge of transmission of pornography, all charges are third-degree felonies. Reeves originally pleading not guilty and requested a jury trial that was set for January 2026 but it was cancelled. Now Reeves is pleading guilty in an open plea that leaves his punishment up to the judge. After going through several sentencing delays, a judge finally ruled on his fate Wednesday morning.
