SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Sarasota County voters can return vote-by-mail ballots by mail or in person for the Nov. 3 general election. The Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Office must receive ballots by 7 p.m. on Election Day. A ballot postmarked by that time but received later will not meet the stated deadline.Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner encouraged voters to plan ahead.“Convenience is at the core of the vote-by-mail process. It’s up to you how you return your ballot,” Turner said. “What’s critically important is that we receive it by 7 p.m. on election night.”Voters who mail their ballots should use one Forever stamp or 82 cents in postage, the elections office said. The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing ballots no later than Tuesday, Oct. 27, to help ensure they arrive before the deadline.More elections stories on Mysuncoast.comBallots may also be dropped off inside Sarasota County elections offices through Nov. 3.
