NASHVILLE (WVLT/Gray News) - Christa Pike has been discharged from a hospital and returned to the Tennessee prison where she has been housed for more than 30 years, her attorneys said.Pike is receiving continued medical care at the Deborah K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center, according to a statement from her attorneys with Federal Defender Services of Eastern Tennessee and the Tennessee Office of the Post-Conviction Defender.Deborah K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center is the primary state correctional facility and intake/classification center for female offenders in Tennessee.Pike, 50, survived two doses of pentobarbital as the state sought to give her a lethal injection eight days ago for the 1995 beating and stabbing death of classmate Colleen Slemmer.
